Case study ✦ Remit60

Money home to Africa. Seven send markets, one remittance platform.

Remit60 is a remittance platform for the African diaspora: senders in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Zimbabwe move money to family across ten-plus African countries, paid out to bank accounts, mobile-money wallets, or cash pickup. AppDevs engineered the platform.

The context

Every corridor is its own product.

Remittance to Africa is not one market. It is dozens of corridors, each with its own currency pair, rate dynamics, payout networks, and collection habits. A sender in London paying out to mobile money in Nairobi and a sender in Sydney paying out to cash pickup in Harare are using different products that must feel like one.

Building that corridor-by-corridor with custom development is slow and expensive. Remit60 needed one engine that treats corridors, rates, and payout rails as configuration, so new markets are an integration, not a rebuild.

What was built

One transfer engine, many corridors.

01

Multi-corridor transfer engine

Seven send currencies into ten-plus African receive markets on one platform. Each corridor brings its own currency pair, rate feed, and payout network, all handled by a single transfer engine with live exchange-rate display.

02

Three payout rails per corridor

Bank deposit, mobile money, and cash pickup as first-class payout options, so recipients collect the way that works where they live, not the way the platform prefers.

03

Sender experience built for repeat use

Saved recipient profiles, real-time transfer tracking from initiation to payout, and coupon/bonus codes for acquisition campaigns.

04

Account security

Two-factor authentication on access, with transaction flows designed around verified sender identities.

05

Web, iOS, and Android from one platform

The full send flow on the web and in native mobile apps, sharing one account model and one transfer engine underneath.

AppDevs engineered the technology platform. Regulatory authorisations, corridor licences, and payout-network relationships are held and operated by Remit60 as the regulated business.
